Cosy, Comfortable Environments
March is the start of autumn and this year we celebrate Easter in March. One of the symbols of autumn is comfort and therefore a time to create serene and snug spaces and environments that keep you safe and warm. Of course what could be better than sitting in a cosy snug chair enjoying the symbol for Easter, Chocolate!!
Now is an excellent time to start looking at your current interiors and think about what you can introduce and enhance within your spaces to create a comfortable environment for your residents. Do your lounge areas need a refresh? Do they feel snug and inviting? What can you introduce to make it a space where you want to spend time?
The team at de Fiddes Design are constantly unveiling new and exciting products. Consider introducing:
- Electric fireplaces - that need very little to install, are safe as they don’t give off any heat but give the wonderful feel of a real fireplace
- Beautiful throw rugs - light in weight, wonderful to the touch and all 100% machine washable
- Sheepskins to place on your armchairs that every resident will want to sit in and a variety of textured cushions to hold, cuddle and wander with.
Not only have the team been exposed to new exciting products this month, but they also attended the Polytec Awards Night. It was a night of networking, great food and drinks but was also a night to sneak a peak of the newly refurbished Melbourne Hotel. Along with a slide show of entrants own take on how to use the Polytec product, the two categories of Residential and Commercial were not short of great design.
It may have been hard to compete with the impressive backdrop of the original Heritage listed 1897 hotel, well known for its Federation Free Classical Style meeting its new minimalistic deconstruction where you can literally see the joins. Yet another layer in the history of the hotel. It may have been hard to compete with the architecture but judging by the attendance of the award night Polytec pulled it off. Well worth a visit and I believe the hotel opened its doors just before Easter.
