Celebrations and busy times at DFD!

April so far has been a month of celebrations and also our National Day of Remembrance. This month I celebrated a birthday, not a milestone (I’m still 28!) and of course we have just had a public holiday for Anzac Day.

Erin headed off to Spain for a walk of a lifetime across the Camino Trail so if any of you have been wondering about Erin’s footwear the past month you will now understand why the boots have been necessary!

Rosemary is traditionally worn on Anzac Day and it reminded me of a recent trip where I had the pleasure of visiting the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. The event was certainly a sensory experience. A feast for the eyes of all the beautiful, colourful flowers and stunning arrangements on show, heavenly smells especially from some of the traditional older style roses, food and drink stands everywhere to satisfy the palate, too much noise to hurt the ears and lots of products to touch and feel. It is virtually impossible not to take out your wallet and buy something which of course is exactly what I did.

We would also like to welcome our fabulous new team member Bree who started two weeks ago. Bree is our new Receptionist and has already become part of the furniture and a valuable new team member.

Projects start and finish and this month Regis Woodlands had their grand opening and it was an absolute pleasure to attend. The menu was sensational, all food made by the Regis local chef along with some wonderful wines from Woodlands Winery, Margaret River – nice touch! We all thought Regis had branched out into the winery business!! To cap it all off we had some inspirational singing by the local Holy Rosary School and were given a gift of delicious hand made chocolates that didn’t make the drive home. All in all it was a wonderful night.

Finally, as you know we are always designing or looking for new interesting products. We have been working with a local Western Australian wood craftsman on kinetic sculptures and had our first deliveries this month. We do still have 3 available should anyone be interested. We are now working with him on some wall mounted, battery operated kinetic sculptures so I will keep you posted.

See you next month.
