Intergenerational Play

This month I would like to highlight Intergenerational play equipment by Lappset.

Play is important to us all both young and old and having equipment that both generations can use together or individually is important. It also give us a wonderful opportunity to come together to interact and play.

Of course the added bonuses are the health benefits. Several studies suggest that stimulating activities on a daily basis together with regular exercise supports maintenance of a seniors ability to function and even improve.

Play should be fun, cheerful, spontaneous and imaginative and it should create positive emotional and communal experiences.

Incorporating spaces within residential aged care facilities with the aim of introducing play, fun and encouraging communal interaction is such a necessity. We are a playful and creative lot at de Fiddes so if you need some inspiration and suggestions please give us a call.
