Travel Tales
What an exciting month it has been! Not only have we been published in the journal of Aging and Social Change: Designing for Dementia but also being interviewed for the Home Journal Asia Magazine for our project we are working on in Hong Kong.
So before heading to Hong Kong I visited Shanghai for the first time to attend 3 amazing trade fairs. So many wonderful concepts and ideas for sensory design so we will start making some prototypes very soon to share with everyone.
Shanghai is such a green city with parks everywhere and what struck me wandering through their parks was the amount of elderly people gathering and exercising together. In fact a lot of them would put me to shame, their flexibility was incredible, but what was really nice to see were the less abled people enjoying the park and being part of the community by sharing, talking or just sitting enjoying the outdoors. We need to place more importance on outdoor spaces within aged care to ensure we help create a community atmosphere to be enjoyed by all.
Lastly, this month please keep an eye out for our InKind survey which should be sent out in early October.
We would greatly appreciate if you could participate as it ensures we are delivering current information on what you want to hear now and into 2020.
