Future of Fabrics - Collaboration is Vital

"Our times require us to rethink not only what to create but also how we create" – Head of Innovation at PUMA.

We are constantly looking to the future and how we can better use technology to help ourselves and educate others to create spaces now, where we would want to live when we are older. [Read: Lamp that is also an air purifier]

We found this amazing collaboration between PUMA and Living Colour, whose goal is to actively contribute to a system that treats the planet and its inhabitants with respect and care. These sportswear fabrics explore the alternative to synthetic dyes by using naturally occurring bacteria that produce pigments. Closing the loop and using non-toxic dyes means the waterways stay clean, the health of the producer and consumer are prioritised, and a more sustainable product results!
Now that's something we can get enthused about!

This collection put a focus on not only sustainability but also collaboration. ”Collaboration is needed to take sustainable innovation to scale. If we bring scientist and designers together, we can bring systems and innovations to a whole new level. We think fashion will shift from competition to collaboration, it’s the only way to accelerate our industry into a sustaining future.”

At de Fiddes we believe collaboration always produces a better result for the end user. Knowing our strengths and drawing expertise from others, is why we have such a diverse team, and such a strong wider network of contributors that we call on.

This worldview fits into how we approach our work, and the values we hold as individuals and as a company.

We are committed to redefining the experience and image of growing older. For this we know and understand the importance of a strong and diverse team to translate vision to reality.  Collaboration is vital to achieve the most successful outcomes for all.
For this we have our architecture, interior design, occupational therapy and research members, who come together on each project, making us a very unique company in the Australian aged care sector.
