Biomorphic Patterns Vs Aged Care Designers

Fabulous Fabrics !

We always love something new!
Whenever new samples come in to our Perth office, there is always an exciting process of applying our specialised expertise to what can be used in our projects, since we focus on the Aged Care/Retirement Living and Dementia space.
With our Occupational Therapist (and Clinical Director) on hand, our interior designers can see an appropriate (or inappropriate…) sample a mile away!

This always gives us the opportunity to look at the evidence and discuss the research as a team. We talk about and pick out what we love, how we can work with it, and what just has to be a fun swatch for a flat-lay. - Simply put, not all patterns and colours are equal when it comes suitability for older people’s living environments and working in the Aged Care Sector. Things you don’t think about when you don’t need to! - every pick out a fabulous red rug, pillow or curtains? Well they may become an issue as you age.

So when ‘Coastal Indulgence’ by Grace Garrett recently came across our desks, and we couldn't be more excited by some of these colours!
The collection celebrates biomorphic forms and patterns that are a symbolic reference to contoured, patterned, textured forms that we see in our coastal environment and sea life.

Driftwood, sand dunes, gulls, coral, waves… Biomorphic forms and patterns have been proven to reduce stress due to induced shift in focus, and enhance concentration.
