Hydrating, Edible Water Drops

Maintaining hydration can often be a challenge for older people and particularly those with dementia. Recently we came across a brilliant product called jelly drops which are edible, bite sized, sugar free sweets containing 95% water and added electrolytes to help those with memory problems who may forget to stay hydrated.

Invented by Lewis Hornby, Jelly Drops was inspired by his late grandmother Pat, who had dementia and a love for sweets. Jelly Drops provided an easy way to increase her daily water intake independently and with dignity.

Working alongside doctors, dementia psychologists’ and those with dementia, Jelly Drops was developed with not only a lovely natural flavour, but containing no artificial colours. The bright raindrop-shaped sweets, displayed as a colourful tray selection are an exciting product we believe will have a big impact and help provide a stress-free solution for resident hydration.
