Quiet Buildings with Moss Designs

Greenmood’s architecturally inspired, sound absorbing moss design collection has everyone here in the de Fiddes office talking!

The suspended, wall and screen options are handmade using preserved natural plant products that combine aesthetics with high-level acoustic absorbance. The natural moss collection is performance tested by CARE CEDIA. The tests were conducted in accordance to the ISO 11654:1997 standard (laboratory-based sound absorption coefficient measurements using 10m² for each moss). Due to their unique ecological process, completed without the addition of any dangerous toxins, chemicals or components, Greenmood’s mosses and foliage’s are maintenance free and require no pruning, watering or sunlight!

Acting not only as a natural sound absorber, the unique designs also aim to reduce stress and promote the general wellbeing we usually find when we go out walking in nature.

We know maintaining noise levels in both health and aged care settings can be a challenge, this is an exciting look at alternative sound absorbing concepts and its positive impact on people’s health and quality of life.
